PARTNERSHIP GOAL
Implement coordinated sustainable agricultural development projects across all areas of Lebanon; based on principles of science, activism, and compassion; with no consideration for religious, political, or geographic barriers.
THE INITIATIVE
The NDC initiated an effort to establish partnerships in several areas of Lebanon. To that end, a meeting was held in Khiyam – South Lebanon on October 2nd, 2021, involving the following organizations and co-ops:
- National Development Committee
- Khiyam agricultural co-op
- Sarada agricultural co-op / Wazzani
- AWFA organization – Ein Ebel / Bent Jbeil
- Islamic orphanage home – Souk Elkhan / Hasbaya
- Dardara spring irrigation agricultural co-op
- Peace generations organization – Rachaya area
- Houla agricultural co-op
- Rashaya Environmental committee organization
- Culture and development coalition – Hasbaya
- “The impossible” organization – Akkar
- Two-springs development organization – Dhaniyeh
- Lebanese Assoc. for Urban Development – Baalbek
Six of these organizations are active participants in the grains project implemented this 2021-22 season in seven areas of Lebanon, and all will be involved in the project next season 2022-23.
The NDC will endeavor to reinforce and expand this partnership in the coming years, as a necessary path to a viable system that oversees the program expansion in size, participation, and services.
